A local move is billed by the hour, from the time the crew arrives until the last item is placed. Two movers are enough for a one-bedroom. Three or four make sense for a family home, because the extra hands cost less than the extra hours.

The crew wraps furniture in pads, shrink-wraps mattresses and sofas, and takes apart and reassembles beds and tables.

Before moving day, we ask about stairs, long carries, heavy items like pianos or safes, and parking at both ends. Those are what change the time.
